I am fighting off a cold by drinking as much tea as possible! Today’s choice flavour is “Jet Lag Awake Strawberry” that I picked up while I was in Washington, D.C. at Capital Teas.
It’s awesome! The blend includes Sencha Green Tea, Yerba Maté, dried strawberry, dried papaya, and gynostemma. The combination of the green tea and maté works wonders for the taste of the tea, with both varieties playing off one another. The strawberry flavours add a nice sweetness to the tea as well. I had no idea what gynostemma was, but after looking it up it seems as though I’ve picked the perfect cold buster tea for the day. It is known as an herbal medicine high in antioxidants, with an ability to increase immunity. It’s also a part of the cucumber family – who knew!
